Trend Micro reports an increase in awareness of mobile security by consumers in 2013.
This growth rate outpaced even that of tablet and smartphone sales, according to Sanjay Mehta, Trend Micro A/NZ managing director.
"Even so, we thought it still had the potential to do more, particularly off the high base rate of tablet and smartphones already in the market," he said.
Beyond mobile security, Mehta has seen a rise in recognition among consumers in regards of the need for protection against identity theft, and not just antivirus and Internet security in general.
