Dead tablet walking: No more big updates coming for the BlackBerry Playbook Jul 17th 2013, 13:59, by Brad Chacos The hits just keep on coming for BlackBerry Playbook owners. Mere weeks after BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins pounded a nail into the moribund tablet's coffin by reneging on an earlier promise to port the BB10 operating system over to the slate, the company's VP of developer relations announced on Twitter that the slate won't be receiving any more significant updates whatsoever. When developers asked whether the Playbook could possibly see any sort of significant update to the slate, VP Alec Saunders firmly shot down the prospect.
