Samsung, LG, and HTC aren't the only smartphone manufacturers looking to takeover the Android market. ZTE, which has a particularly strong presence overseas, teased its 2014 smartphone lineup days ahead of next week's industry dog-and-pony show in Las Vegas.

ZTE will introduce the Grand S II, Nubia 5S, Nubia 5S Mini, Sonata 4G, and Iconic Phablet—that last one isn't a typo. Although there isn't an official list of product specs available just yet, the Grand S II is referred to as ZTE's "first high-precision voice phone" and will feature voice-recognition unlocking and voice-to-phone photography. It will also feature noise reduction for more natural and clearer voice calls.

The Nubia 5S and Nubia 5S mini, on the other hand, will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processors. The larger Nubia 5S comes with a 5-inch 1080p display and a 13-megapixel camera with a Sony RS sensor and 4K Ultra HD video camera, while the smaller Nubia 5S mini will have a 4.7-inch display and come in an array of color options. The Sonata 4G is merely a mid-range phone with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 5MP camera, as well as 720p screen.

Lastly, the Iconic Phablet will sport a few special interface features, including the ability to display two applications simultaneously on its 5.7-inch screen. Its innards sound decidedly mid-range, however, as the phone-tablet hybrid will only feature a dual-core processor.
