Can print-on-demand chocolate kisses be close to reality?
3D Systems, a maker of maker of personal and professional 3D printers, said Thursday it signed an agreement with The Hershey Company, maker of some of the country's most popular candies, to explore 3D printing of food, including candy.
No arrival date for the new technology was mentioned, however. Or was any information provided about how silver wrappers might wind up on the candy.
Chuck Hull, chief technology officer for 3D Systems, stated in a release that his company sees mainstreaming 3D printing as vital to his company's success, including expanding "the 3D printing experiences into delectable edibles."
