Microsoft recently took another tentative step towards making Xbox the company's all-encompassing entertainment brand, rolling out its popular game Wordament to Android.
Don't be mistaken: Microsoft has released Xbox apps on Android before, like Smartglass and My Xbox Live. Wordament, however, is the first Android app that includes full Xbox Live integration—including leaderboard rankings and achievements. Players can earn up to 50G in achievements, compare themselves to other players worldwide, and create a 'frenemies' list to keep an eye on rivals.
Xbox fans with Android devices can sign in to Wordament with their Xbox Live gamertag or Facebook account. The Xbox Live move to Android follows a similar Xbox Live rollout to iOS, again via Wordament, in late 2012.
Wordament was an early Windows Phone game and one of the first 40 gaming titlesto appear in the Windows Store with Windows 8. The game is a digital take on the classic word search game Boggle. Players are confronted with a grid of letter blocks and attempt to create words among adjacent letters. Once you find a word, you have to drag your finger in sequence to spell it out.
