Apple has decided to spread a bit of holiday cheer at home this year by making the 2013 12 Days of Gifts app available to iTunes users based in the United States for the first time.
A free download that runs on both iPad and iPhone devices, the app will provide users access to a free gift every day from December 26 until January 6. Gifts will include free apps, songs, and videos, and will each be available for just 24 hours.
Gift-giving apps have been an Apple tradition for several years, but they were usually available only in a few countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom. This year, the company has brought its giveaways stateside—although the app's description does note that "not all content is available in all countries."
Notably, the app—which clocks in at a pretty hefty 65MB—requires iOS 7 to run, which means that users of devices that run older versions of the company's mobile operating system will be left wishing they had found a brand new iPhone or iPad under the tree.
