The much-hyped Moto X finally has a release date—at least for one carrier. The phone will be available starting August 23 from AT&T. The 16GB version is priced at $200 and the 32GB version at $250. Motorola's Moto Maker will also be going live that date, allowing you to customize your very own Moto X if you don't just want the black and white models that'll be available in store.
AT&T says that people who sign up for more information via its Moto X page will have the chance to design and receive their Moto X's ahead of the general public. Moto Maker gives you hundreds of colors to choose from, so you can make your phone look at garish as you'd like.
I was a big fan of the Moto X, but it's definitely not for everyone: The camera isn't up to snuff when compared to AT&T's other offerings, and you can pick up a Galaxy S4 or (my favorite Android phone) the HTC One for the same price. No word yet on when the Moto X is set to hit Verizon, T-Mobile, or Sprint, but you can bet it'll launch on those carriers soon after it makes its debut in AT&T stores nationwide.
