Phil Fish, creator of the popular Xbox Live Arcade game Fez, has famously said that PCs are for spreadsheets and that Fez is a console game made for the couch and controller setup. It looked like a PC port for the awesome indie game would never happen. However, that thought may pass according to a recent blog post on the Polytron website. He writes:
2012 was crazy.Luckily, the logical step after creating a successful XBLA game is to port it to Steam on the PC, where oftentimes it becomes much more successful. Just go ask those Super Meat Boy folks.
But what now?
2013 is going to be an interesting one, too.
For one, FEZ will finally be ported to other platforms.
Fish has been a polarizing figure in the indie game industry this last year, especially after finding some fame in Indie Game: The Movie, a terrific documentary that released in June of 2012 that focused on Fish's development of Fez, as well as the struggle of Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes to release Super Meat Boy.
